Vilnius – Kiev – Beijing (13:05 hrs)
The New Start is not as smooth as expected and in the way I or anyone else could have imagined!
To be deported? Really? Me? Yeah… Because China Eastern Airlines has a technical stop for refuelling in China! Does it seem unbelievable? Yes, but unfortunately it is the truth.
It seems that it is impossible to get a transit visa in Beijing despite the fact that in other city in China you won’t be even leaving the plane! And these news unexpectedly reached me after 13 hours trip from Vilnius to Beijing. I arrived at 1 am and I was so tired but Chinese who knew only 10 words in English tried to explain the situation saying you need to buy a new ticket and you have 24 hours. When he understood that I am not giving up, the other guy who speaks fluent English came to help. And it seems that I have only 10 minutes to make a decision: to buy a new ticket from Beijing to Sydney without ANY stops in China or I am gonna be deported back to Kyev. Tears in my eyes, doubts in my head, stress in my body and it hit me: is it another sign? I had too many of them not to change the life 360, but I was still stubborn to do that.
