After 2-3 weeks of rain it finally seems to be spring again! I feel the need of sun and outdoor activities. Why not to get away from Sydney city for the day trip?

The trip to Palm beach takes 2 hours by public transportation however taking 2 trains and then 2 buses made it a bit exhausting. Thus, such a peaceful and relaxing place is worth it!

I got off the bus at the Observation Point which has a nice view to the bay with many small boats and followed the road down the hill until I reached Pittwater side of the beach. It felt like I am alone in an uninhabited island: just the sound of the waves and wind was moving through my ears. Unfortunately, I was not alone. Many jellyfishes were on the beach and in the sea as well.

At the end of the beach the Barrenjoey Lighthouse Walk started by the steep stairs up (Smugglers Track). The track crossed bush land and revealed amazing views over Palm Beach.

Despite steep stairs, the way to the light house was not long and just after 10 minutes I could enjoy views of the beach and the lighthouse. Heritage listed sandstone Barrenjoey Lighthouse is a part of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. It was built in 1881 and it is at 113 metres above sea-level. 360 degrees view is breath taking.

It's Tuesday, still not summer time, the Palm beach is empty and ocean water is refreshing enough to take a quick swim! Perfect timing to relax and enjoy the sunny day in the Palm beach!

Thanks to friend's recommendations not to miss the Boathouse Palm Beach restaurant. When coming closer I knew it's the place worth stopping at! Rustic-chic space, natural flowers, beach view and delicious smells! The beer battered flathead with chips, Boathouse tartare & fresh lemon was full of flavor. I enjoyed it a lot and would definitely come back.

On my way back to Sydney I stopped at Avalon beach and check-marked my 'to-do list': swim in the ocean swimming pool. Done!
