6:15 Catching the first train
6:30 Meeting friends
6:45 Taking the second train to Woy Woy station
8:18 Bus to Putty beach
9:05 The start of the hiking day
Everything was according to the schedule otherwise we wouldn’t have reached the Bouddi National Park which is not so easily accessible by public transportation as buses go there only few times a day.
Our walk started with a visit to Putty Beach which has a nice area for camping and barbeque nearby – what a wonderful place to run away from the city life, relax and enjoy the sound the ocean waves.
The stairs from the Putty beach lead us to Bullimah Beach and Gerrin Point Lookout. Views change every few minutes letting us experience the beauty of wildlife, pristine beaches and wonderful rock formations on the coast. Tessellated pavement, the flat rock surface subdivided by similar size rectangles, looks like a mosaic floor which together with the ocean views provide a breathtaking panorama.
Although the walk is a medium difficulty, 26 degrees, clouded sky but high humidity makes the walk tiring and exhausting. Thus reaching the Maitland Bay we decide to relax, enjoy swimming and snorkeling in the area and we lose the track of timing.
Although we planned to reach Macmaster’s Beach and take the bus at 4:30pm, but photo shooting the every episode the coastal walk provides, laughing a lot and with our relaxed pace of walking, it seems impossible to be there on time. Anyways we try to manage that… by stopping at the random road and trying to catch the perfect shot of us jumping, telling the stories that the white sand of the road gives the feeling of being in Canada or Picea trees providing the Christmas spirit.
Shortly the light rain starts, I feel dehydrated and there is no spot for water refill on the way. After the trail is finished, we walk on the road through an amazing neighborhood full of modern and rustic style houses, most of them located in the middle of the forest providing them the wildlife experience.
As it was already clear, we missed the bus we planned to catch and the other one is coming only after 2.5 hours. At least we wanted to find the water refill station, super market and I was all into the coffee. Unfortunately, there was nothing similar to that except the water refill station nearby the beach.
2 boys sitting in the inflatable boat and trying to snorkel not fully going to the water, made my companions laugh so much and the laughter continued till the midnight.
After getting to Gosford we went to the Star Buffet and such a selection of food kept us eating after which we just needed to sit down, relax or even take a nap. After the long day we finally caught the train back to Sydney and reached home after the midnight.
Such a long day full of adventures and fun made the great start of the new week.
