Esperance, we are coming!

After the terrible 3 hours sleep and cold we managed to go to the Hippo’s Yawn 20 minutes away from the campsite which wasn’t as good as the Wave Rock. In addition flies were attacking us so we were forced to wear the fly nets.

We left the campground around 8:30 am and headed towards Esperance which was 4 hours’ drive, 380 km from the Wave Rock. The road was as boring as yesterday but the fact that we were going to reach the beautiful coastline kept motivation on.

Being 20 km away from Esperance we noticed huge and extremely white sand dunes and couldn’t wait to reach the coast. Going up the hill and then down we saw the first beach which was stunning. After the boring landscape for 2 days this seemed to be paradise. We stopped at the Blue Haven Beach for a bit of sunbathing but didn’t dare to swim due to cold water and huge wind.

Later on, we stopped at Observatory point and lookout to have a magnificent views across the coastline of Cape Le Grand National Park.

As we haven’t booked any campground and all of them were fully booked, we were lucky to get a space at Bather Campground even though it was the powered one and costed us a bit of money. All in all, it was a really nice campground with great facilities.

The town wasn’t special with many take away places and few shops around.
