I was looking forward to this day for a long time - exploring walks in the breathtaking Kalbarri National Park.
We woke up at 5:45 am as it was 1 hour drive to our first walk which we had to change to the shorter and easier one than planned due to extreme heat.
We started Z-Bend River trail at 7:10 am and it was already 30 degrees. It was a quite easy 2.6 km return walk with the river access which was pretty secluded however the hike provided the spectacular scenery along the trail. It probably took as an hour for the return walk with a stop at the Z-Bend Lookout.
At 9 am it was already 34 degrees which was killing us so we chose to do few stops at the different lookouts.
Nature’s Window is said to be one of WA’s most iconic natural attractions which was 1 km return walk. The heat was not helping but the picturesque view paid that off.
After this we drove around 40 minutes to get to the Hawks Head lookout which for me personally had the best gorge and river views.
On the way we stopped at Ross Graham Lookout for the view of the gorges.
11 am, 40 degrees. Not much energy to do anything. Having picnic in Kalbarri and chilling on the grass seemed to be a great idea.
Few hours later I felt like there are many other places to see around and we can’t waste more time, so we headed to check Pot Alley lookout and the access to the beach which was really impressive, Island Rock and Natural Bridge.
These were our last sightseeing spots on our road trip and we headed to Oakabella Homestad to have some rest and prepare ourselves for coming back to civilization. We were surrounded by sheeps, a dog and a very friendly cat during our stay there which interrupted our sleep.
