Palm Cove, Kuranda, Barren Falls & Tjapukai

Updated: Dec 3, 2019

Yesterday in the evening we reached Palm Cove where we gonna stay 3 nights and can relax a bit and finally don’t pack our stuff every morning. Even though that doesn’t mean we gonna stay in the resort or sunbath in the beach because Australia has a lot to offer.

Firstly we went to Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park where we were introduced to their traditions and face painting, hunting tools, medicine, instrument Didgeridoo and dances. The instrument Didgeridoo is a traditional instrument of Tjapukai which seemed for us quite a difficult one to play with. Thus aboriginal people played us the sounds of nature like Kangaroo jumping or laughing bird.

After that we went to explore the aboriginal village Kuranda in which there were many souvenir shops and lots of people in it – it was nothing special to see there.

Close to the village we drove to Barron falls which was worth visiting. Even though it wasn’t full of water as you can find photos on the internet but it was still huge and breathtaking.

On the way back to Palm Cove we saw many wallabies in the valleys near the road and stopped to follow them. Unfortunately there was a fence around that area and shy wallabies ran further away but the view of so many of them in one place made an impression.

Dinner, Jacuzzi, beer and goodnight.
