Melbourne

Getting closer to the Melbourne center through the huge port doesn’t make a good first impression about the city which actually doesn’t change when getting in to it. It seems totally different from Sydney and Brisbane which are much cozier. You can feel the artistic touch in the city especially because of the street art and different people around.

The city was super crowded and later we found out that it was due to the festival and Labour Day weekend. We enjoyed the walk through Southbank Promenade which is full of bars and restaurants.

Melbourne has a free tram zone and the old tram for city circle which is a perfect choice for tourists to go around the city center. The only disadvantage of it is that it goes only every 30 minutes with no timetable shown which makes it inconvenient to explore places and wastes a lot of time waiting for the tram.

One of the known spots nearby the city is Brighton beach and its boxes. Unfortunately to the extremely huge wind and heavy rain we only stopped for few minutes but those colourful boxes made a great impression about the place.

We stopped at the Meat and Wine Co to try skewered Kangaroo and beef steaks for the last dinner in Australia.

Interior of the restaurant was simple and cozy and all dishes were very delicious.

A stop at the shopping mall before the flight and the holidays in Australia is finished. What’s next?
