Pinnacles Desert & Pink Lake not pink!

Updated: Feb 24, 2020

Next morning we went to the Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park which is one of Australia’s most unique landscapes, featuring thousands of limestone spires, some up to 12 meters tall. We were allowed to drive our 2WD along the 4 km loop unless it said differently online. It was a different and amazing panorama comparing to what we have seen so far on our trip. My friend even saw 8 emus crossing the dessert! It was a great place worth visiting.

As it was so hot, chilling at the beach (Hangover Bay) seemed like a perfect idea even though the wind didn’t let us enjoy it for a long time.

After 2.5 hours’ drive, I needed to have some rest and we stopped at Geraldton which was also known for the street art however the town didn’t have a vibe. So we did some shopping for the last few days and headed to Hutt Lagoon/ Pink Lake. It was so secluded, we couldn’t even see the pink shade in there. Hopefully with more water it is more pinkish.

We had our campsite booked at Wagoe Chalets and Camping in which chalets didn’t look appealing and we were happy to get the spot with the perfect sunset despite the extremely huge wind which was interrupting our sleep a lot.
