I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel after celebrating the New Year (I felt well by the way) so the plan was to visit places around.
First of all, we took a walk in Albany which once again convinced us to be a pretty town. We stopped to have coffee at ‘La botanic’ but had to wait quite long for just a coffee as they didn’t seem to be in a rush (so different from Sydney), at least coffee was great.
Then we went to Torndirrup National Park where we visited the Natural Gap and Natural Bridge, made our own Bacon & Egg rolls at the Goode Beach, and got covered ourselves by sand due to the wind and finished the visit at the national park with the hike to the Isthmus Hill. The view at the end of the walk was magnificent with so many shades of blue from both sides. Is it possible not to fall in love with that?
As we haven’t had any campground booked, we decided to try the Shelley Beach campsite. As we went down to the beach, there were many cars parked and tents set. Fortunately, one car left and we got a spot right at the beach, and the best thing about that - it was free. That’s how I imagined camping in Western Australia!
Tortilla wraps, beers at the beach and calming sound of the waves. Loved that!
