It is crazy to look for a job. If you want to get a job in hospitality, you have to hand your resume directly otherwise you almost have any chances of getting a job. It's challenging to go looking for a waitress or barista job without any experience.
In one cafe the manager suggested trying barista job and it was quite a good and funny experience! Next day i was suggested to come for a trial for a waitress position in the yacht club cafe on the deck. It was so cold in the morning, just +8 degrees with the wind blowing through my face and i was dressed up with the jumper only. And then I had a chance to find out how selective Australians are at least for a coffee! They have so many requests for the one cup of coffee! First of all, they choose one kind of coffee to be served. Then they choose weak, medium or strong, with more froth or without, with soy, skim or almond milk, extra hot or decaf. And it's not even the end. They usually ask for cold/hot water/milk on the side. And they usually say their wishes automatically without even breathing. 4 to 6 selections for just a cup of coffee, really? It seems that Lithuanians and Europeans need to be more selective.
